Abstract

This is a review and analysis of Luke Nichter's new book on the 1968 election and a discussion of five prominent presidential scholars' views and my assessment. Irwin Gellman, the preeminent scholar of Richard Nixon, calls Nichter's book the "primary reference for the {1968} presidential election for the foreseeable future" best describes my view. I am using it for brevity in this abstract.
