Abstract

This study investigated the effects of a high volume 5 wk weight-training program and different work-rest intervals at maximum strength, power, repeated high intensity exercise (HIEE) and low intensity exercise endurance (LIEE). Thirty-three trained males (20.4±3.5 yr) were divided into 3 groups. Groups used the same exercise and set and repetition scheme. Time to exhaustion at 351 of peak power, vertical. jump and vertical jump power did not change. Data suggest that, except for maximum strength,· adaptations to short-term high-volume training may not be dependent upon rest interval length.
